East Midlands food and drink producers invited to join Nottingham Regional and Speciality Food and Drink Market

East Midlands food and drink producers are being invited to take part in a regional and speciality food and drink market.

Regional food group East Midlands Fine Foods is aiming to boost the number of stalls on the monthly Nottingham Regional and Speciality Food and Drink Market, which attracts sellers from across the East Midlands.

The market, held on the third Friday and Saturday of every month, has been running for three years in conjunction with Nottingham City Council and has built up a strong crowd of regular customers.

Now organisers are keen to hear from additional producers who would like to be part of the market, which is held in the Old Market Square.

“The Nottingham market is a fantastic opportunity for the region’s food and drink producers to sell their products direct to consumers,” said Jo Murphy, events manager at East Midlands Fine Foods. “We’re looking for products that are made in the region, or have value added here. For example, we recognise that products such as olives are imported but may be marinated locally.

“Any product which fits into this criterion is eligible for consideration. However, with our current mix of traders in mind, we would be particularly interested to hear from producers of bread, honey, poultry and game, soft drinks, oils and dressings, dairy products and deli ranges such as olives, pesto, charcuterie, smoked fish / meat and antipasti.

“The East Midlands has some brilliant food and drink producers and it would be great if a few more could join the 30 or so stalls that we have at the market each month.”
